Ruslan Zainullin (Calgary Flames) has been waived by HC Lada. He was signed by the Super League club earlier this summer, but the team appears to have changed direction with a fresh infusion of funds. He is currently on a tryout contract with another Super League club HC MVD.
Alexei Kaigorodov (Ottawa Senators) will be in Ottawa’s lineup this season. The young forward has agreed with his Russian team to allow him to sign an NHL deal without annulling his Russian contract, which will remain on pause during his NHL career with HC Metallurg retaining his rights outside the NHL. The young forward’s contract will be for two years and will be a one way deal without an opportunity to send him to the minors. If the young forward is sent down, he will have an option to return to Russia and continue playing for his Super League club HC Metallurg.
Maxim Kondratiev (Anaheim Mighty Ducks) signed a one year contract with his former club HC Lada in Togliatti, Russia. The young defenseman started the season with the New York Rangers, who acquired him from Toronto the previous year. He was since traded to Anaheim, but never skated for the NHL club and instead skated for the AHL’s Portland Pirates, where he delivered an all-star performance in the playoffs, leading his team in scoring.
